How to plan 8 weeks of PMP® study around a full-time job

A week-by-week plan that fits PMP preparation into evenings and weekends.

On this page 3 sections
  1. Weeks 1–2: foundations
  2. Weeks 3–6: domains
  3. Weeks 7–8: mocks and review

Eight weeks is enough time to prepare for the PMP exam if you study consistently. The plan below assumes around eight to ten hours a week.

Weeks 1–2: foundations

Attend the orientation sessions, read the exam content outline and take a short diagnostic quiz so you know where to focus.

Weeks 3–6: domains

Work through People, Process and Business Environment in turn. Finish each week with a timed set of practice questions and review every answer, right or wrong.

Weeks 7–8: mocks and review

Sit at least two full-length mock exams under real conditions. Use the per-domain results to target your final revision, then book your exam date.
